Gumbu Muugar Bul (Fathers Mother Coral Reef Country)

This artwork depicts Manbarra Country.  I am connected to Manbarra Country and the Great Barrier Reef through my fathers mother.  Creation snake, Gubbal, carved out the Herbert River swam into the ocean and carved out the coral reefs.  He then dropped parts of his body to create the islands of Manbarra Country before finally dropping his head to make up part of Walgurukaba peoples country (Yunbenun aka Magnetic Island).  We share our Dreaming.
