Headless Gubbal (Manbarra Carpet Snake Dreaming)

This artwork depicts the Manbarra dreaming creation snake Gubbal.  Gubbal carved out the islands of Manbarra Country, weaving through the ocean to create the Great Barrier Reef.  His head is left out of this artwork as after he weaved the islands of Manbarra Country and dropped his body to make the islands, he dropped his head to create Yunbenun (Magnetic Island) of the Walgurukaba people (we have shared Dreaming).
